Description
This is the third novella in a new series composed according to the principles of Comprehensible Input language acquisition. The story is about the third king of Rome, known for his warlike tendencies, and the conflicts between Rome and neighboring peoples during his rule. In one of those wars, the Horatii triplets act as champions for the Roman side and fight three-on-three against enemy brothers. This version of the story is adapted from the account of Titus Livius, also called Livy, in his history, Ab Urbe Condita. The vocabulary of the reader pertains to military matters, weapons, commands, and troop movements, and prepares the reader to encounter authentic texts of Roman history.
